Mental and Fatigue Analysis

Measure your mental resilience, detect bogey spirals, and track performance fatigue across every hole.

Course and Date Range Filters

Scope your mental analysis to a specific course and time period. Analyzing one course eliminates layout variance and isolates pure mental patterns. The date range lets you compare a recent block of rounds against an older one to measure mental progress over time.

Data Reliability Indicator

Every mental metric is computed from sequences of holes. The more sequences available, the more reliable the statistics. DGPotential shows a color-coded reliability badge: green (120+ sequences), blue (80+), orange (40+), red (below 40). This keeps you honest about statistical significance.

Key Mental Performance Indicators

Three core metrics give an instant read on your mental game. The Bogey Resilience Index (BRI) measures your ability to bounce back after a bogey. The Volatility Index (VI) captures score variance across holes. The Bogey Spiral Effect quantifies how often one bad hole chains into another. Each metric is color-coded from strong (green) to critical (red).

Preview
BRI — Bogey Resilience Index

78.3 %

Ability to return to par or better after a bogey. Above 70 % is strong.
Good level
VI — Volatility Index

1.42

Variance of scores across holes. Lower means more consistent play.
Moderate
Bogey Spiral Effect

34.5 %

Probability of chaining negative scores after a bogey. Lower is better.

Contextual Help on Every Metric

Every KPI card includes a help button that opens a popover explaining: what the metric measures, how to interpret the scale, your current value in context, and your performance level. No statistics degree required — each explanation is written in plain language.

BRI — Bogey Resilience Index

Meaning: Probability of returning to par or better after a bogey or worse score.

Scale: 0 % (no recovery) to 100 % (always recovers). Above 70 % is considered strong.

Fatigue Analysis by Hole Segment

Your round is split into three segments: Start (holes 1-6), Middle (7-12), and End (13-18). For each segment, DGPotential computes P(B|B) — the probability of a bogey chain — variance, and under-par rate. A degradation from Start to End indicates fatigue. Use this to prioritise physical or mental conditioning for the back nine.

Hole-by-Hole Drift Chart

The drift chart plots your average score relative to par for each individual hole number across all rounds. Positive bars reveal structurally difficult holes for your game. Negative bars identify your birdie opportunities. Patterns across the 18 holes tell you exactly where your scoring profile is strongest and weakest.

AI Mental Coaching Report — OpenRouter

Once your mental data is loaded, you can generate a full AI coaching report. The model receives all your sequence statistics, fatigue segments, and tee-time data, then produces: an executive summary, interpretation of each KPI, fatigue pattern analysis, tee-time impact, and 5 prioritised mental training recommendations with a 4-week action plan.

AI Mental Analysis — Sample output

"Executive summary: Your BRI of 78.3 % is above average, but your End-segment P(B|B) of 36.7 % reveals a significant concentration of bogey chains in holes 13-18. Morning tee times correlate with +12 pts average rating vs afternoon. Priority: 1) Pre-shot routine on holes 14-16. 2) Breathing reset after any bogey. 3) Reduce disc selection complexity in the back nine..."
